DESIGN FAIR PARIS by Les Puces du Design has been the first historical market exclusively dedicated to design from the 50s to the 2000s. Since the autumn of 2016, DESIGN FAIR PARIS by Les Puces du Design evolves with a more evident opening to contemporary design and international exhibitors.

A pioneer spirit

DESIGN FAIR PARIS by Les Puces du Design has been the first European fair dedicated exclusively to vintage design. Today, DESIGN FAIR PARIS by Les Puces du Design continues to be renewed and do not hesitate to break the codes of the design markets and to open the boundaries between the different modes of expression of the sector.

Exigence and expertise

Since 1999, DESIGN FAIR PARIS by Les Puces du Design has defended the original design and the know-how of designers through a subjective selection of rare and iconic objects. The upstream selection of exhibitors, all specialized and professionals, makes it a safe and ideal place to buy design pieces from all periods.

A pedagogical role

Since their beginnings, DESIGN FAIR PARIS by Les Puces du Design has contributed to the development of a profession of passion and have revealed to the general public a cultural heritage often not really accessible in France.

1999

• first edition in May in one day in the Montorgueil quarter, around the Passage du Grand Cerf (Paris 2nd).
• About 15 exhibitors and no equivalent in Europe : the DesignBörse of Düsseldorf will be created the same year in October.
• L'édition est parainée par Andrée Putman.
• Dès 2001, des galeristes européens prendront part à l'évènement.

• 10th edition in May
• About 30 exhibitors
• 5.5 Designers have carte blanche for celebrating this birthday : they create the collection “Ordinary Objects” ; some of them will be edited by La Corbeille Editions in 2006
• XXO makes sensation by presenting only Tulip Chairs (Ed. Knoll)

2007

• Les Puces du Design leave the historic heart of Paris to settle at the Quai de la Loire in the 19th arrondissement.
• the number of participants doubled from June 2007 to around 70 participants
• arrival of specialists in vintage fashion
• partnership with the cinema MK2 Quai de Loire and screening of films commented by guests including Macha Makeïeff, Inga Sempé, Ibride ...

• New relocation of the Puces du Design to the historic and contemporary district of Bercy Village
• The exhibitors are now a hundred and come to nearly 40% of European countries: Germany, Belgium, Italy, Great Britain, Luxembourg, Netherlands ...
• Release of a free magazine that accompanies each event

• 30th edition
• The Puces du Design are still the only event of this scope in free public access
• an exceptional exhibition in collaboration with the Italian gallery owner Gian- Marco Volpi presents Andrea Branzi's last 15 years of creation: a global, poetic, committed vision of design that fits the spirit of the Puces du Design!

In April : exhibition dedicated to Olivier Mourgue from whom the furniture has been chosen in 1968 by Stanley Kubrick for illustrating the furniture of future in "2001 : the space odyssey" !

In 1999, it was bold, even a little crazy, to propose on the Parisian pavement a flea market of antique designers ... Yet it was the bet of Fabien Bonillo founder and organizer of Puce Design!

He decides to create the first market in Europe exclusively dedicated to vintage design furniture, associating a real exigence of quality and a popular dimension.

In parallel of this activity, Fabien Bonillo is also a publisher of objects, lighting and furniture, under the brand La Corbeille Éditions.
